One of Terry's favourite painting subjects was the Basingstoke Canal in Hampshire. It doesn't sound very glamorous but his my opinion it's one of the most unspoilt and beautiful waterways in the UK.
The boat featured here is The John Pinkerton which is a canal trip boat run by the Basingstoke Canal Society and the bridge in the background is again one of his favourite bridges, Spratts Hatch Bridge, Winchfield.
