"Creating and Developing a Concertina Sketchbook"
ONE DAY WORKSHOP
Enjoy an exciting creative day developing your own Concertina book. June is a wonderful month bursting with colour so our subject can be floral, landscape, abstract or figurative, which ever appeals the most to you.
We use a large sheet of paper ( which I can provide) and cover this with exciting shapes, dynamic marks and any textures we wish as a starting point for our books. There's no need for outlines, as I encourage you to paint directly onto your paper, using any colours you chose, although a limited palette is ideal at this stage.
Once our sheet is covered, we proceed to the folding and cutting stage before assembling our books, and pressing them flat prior to further embellishing and completing our projects.
Although you will complete your book, you may add to it if you wish. Add drawing, additional layers or collage to this or any future projects after the workshop ends.
There will be demonstrations throughout the day and examples of the various stages needed to inspire you to create your own unique project.
I look forward to painting with you!
This workshop has been organised by an Art Group and is not open to the public.

"Constructing and Developing a Concertina Journal"
Napton Village Hall, Napton, Warwickshire, CV47 8LS
ART SOCIETY DEMONSTRATION - VISITORS WELCOME
Developing our ideas is the pathway to improve our paintings, and challenging the way we always work can sometimes lead to wonderful discoveries.
This demonstration is intended to illustrate how I develop ideas through layering, using watercolour and drawing techniques. There will be examples of the various stages needed to develop a journal and I will demonstrate those stages from the very start of a project to the finishing touches.
Painting need not always be about producing a finished piece of work to frame and hang on a wall, but instead be a journey to improve the way we feel about painting and what we produce.
Visitors to this demonstration are most welcome, there is a small charge of £5 at the door which includes refreshments.
