Terry visited the USA each year to teach and whilst there he would take a few days to drive about and photograph the lovely barns in the area. This is one such barn. He was never there in snow, but used his Summer photo to create this winter scene.
The colours he uses are sumptuous and rich, deep blues and burnt sienna, a particular combination he loved to use. There are his original pencil lines still visible in sections.
This painting features in Terry's book "Painting Watercolour Snow Scenes"
