This is a painting inspired when Terry was teaching in Boone in NC USA. He would take a few days after his week teaching to spend some time looking for painting subjects, and this one was perfect for using a limited palette to create drama.
The sky, although dark and heavy suggests a passing storm with the promise of hope as we focus on the warm glow of light.
