Terry loved painting Birch trees with the lovely contrast of their light trunks against dark foliage, this painting includes some wonderful wet into wet techniques creating this soft background contrasting with his simplicity of strokes to achieve the effect of running water. One stroke too many and the water would have been 'over done' Terry was a master of knowing exactly when to stop.
