This is one of the smallest paintings by Terry, and yet he manages to capture so many details. The sunny sky and waves on the water entice us through the gap between the dunes. The grasses are suggested using a fabulous sgraffito technique into the wet paint resulting in this 3D effect of the the dunes on each side of the painting, drawing us towards the sea.
