I so enjoy painting allotments, especially after a snowfall but what struck me about this one was the shaft of sunlight contrasting the leeks in bright light with those in shadow.
I am particularly drawn to the limited colours and strong tonal contrasts created when the sun is low in the sky and the shadows are long. 
This allotment is always kept beautifully in all seasons.
